If you have decided to follow Jesus, water baptism is a great Next Step in your faith journey! Baptism is a public, outward declaration of the decision you’ve already made to follow Jesus. By being submersed in water, we are identifying with Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection (Colossians 2:12, Romans 6:1-4)! It’s also a significant reminder that the old is gone- God has saved you, and He will be faithful to continue the work He has started in your life.
Anyone who believes in Jesus, acknowledges His death on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins & the means by which we are returned to right relationship with God, and has entered into a relationship with Him should be baptized! Still not sure? Check out the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions below!
The Bible gives account of 3 important reasons for baptism:
Our baptism process has been designed to be both simple and meaningful. From the registration form to the Baptism Weekend, each step has been carefully planned with you in mind.
If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, the next thing the Bible tells us to do is be baptized. (Matthew 28:18-20) The old you is symbolically buried in the water and the new you is raised up, just as Christ was raised from the dead (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12). Baptism is not an act by which we are saved; it’s an outward sign of what Christ has already done in our hearts.
At Red Cedar Church, we celebrate three baptism services in our worship center each calendar year. Click the SIGN UP NOW button above to get signed up for the next baptism service. We will walk you through everything you'll need to know for this special moment!
Child baptism is a tradition in many churches where a child becomes part of the church community. If you were baptized as a child, you can be thankful for your spiritual heritage. Child baptism happens because of your parent’s choice before you chose to follow Christ. Believer’s baptism is your decision after you follow Christ, and it represents God’s new life working in you.
At Red Cedar, we completely understand that there can be some very real concerns when going underwater in public. When you register we will give you all the details, including what you should wear and bring. If you forget something, we’ve got you covered. Our changing rooms are filled with any item you may need. If you still have concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to call our office at (715) 234-3381.
First, know that this is a common question, and you're not alone in feeling this way! Second, Jesus Christ died for all of your sins -- past, present, and future (Hebrews 10:14) -- which means we do not need to be baptized again in order to be fully forgiven and fully forgiven by God. If you have more specific questions around the topic of Baptism, please email email@example.com
While every child is different, we do believe there are a few things you can do to ensure your child is ready to be baptized. Just as with adults, a decision to follow Jesus comes before baptism. You'll want to be looking for external signs or changes based on their inward decision to follow Christ. This is a great way for the church to partner with your family. Feel free to ask one of our leaders in Children’s Ministry to speak with your child about their decision to follow Jesus, and sign up to attend our next Kid's Baptism Class! Contact our Children's Ministry Director for more information.
